Edgar Hudgins was a man of vision. He was one of the greatest influences on the Brahman breed and on the Global Brahman Industry. In 1987, the Australian Brahman Breeders Association started the Edgar Hudgins Memorial Scholarships, in which they award one hard working Australian young person a trip to the US to learn more about the Brahman Industry.
The 2024 successful applicant receives a return air fare from their nearest airport to Houston, Texas and the Association will make arrangements for the person to be placed with members of the American Brahman Breeders’ Association. The successful applicant will gain experience in the activities conducted on the Brahman ranches of the host family and live in the normal family environment. The scholarship is for 12 weeks duration.
