I invite you to assist the Australian Brahman Breeder’s Association with the Annual Rockhampton Junior Beef Show. Having started in 1991 at the Rockhampton showgrounds the annual event is well talked about all year round, with participants returning to junior beef after they age out to assist the committee with programming events. The event not only supports the youth of today but also provides a pathway for the next generation of educators, event organisers, committee members, and most importantly parents.
The 2023 event attracted 148 participants and 350 attendees at the presentation dinner. Throughout the years we have continued to enjoy the junior judging and parading competitions, many trips to Gracemere to judge commercial cattle, and an ever-changing educational program to keep our participants interested and informed. We have had everything from Meat cooking competitions, Meatworks tours, Working dog demonstrations, AI practice on our “cow” Betsy, Scanning demonstrations, and many other activities. Our pasture Olympics has been a must in our nightly activities as has the awards night which is always an enjoyable dinner that allows everyone to get dressed up and have a great time.
The event was broadcast across Television, Radio, Social Media and newspapers. This amount of coverage across all platforms continues to confirm the importance of this event year after year.
