WELCOME TO HALGENAES RED BRAHMANS!
Halgenaes is a very small stud near Ingham in Tropical North Queensland. Historically the Herbert River District has been the home of The Orient and Mungalla Droughtmaster and Brahman Stud. As our herd is small, we have tried various initiatives, such as importing the first Red Brahman embryos for South Africa into Australia. We have used a blend of old and new genetics. Flushing has been done with mixed success but has given us access to a much wider gene pool than we could normally have achieved.
Highlights of our limited showing have been Halgenaes
Shaboo winning the Senior Brahman Female at Beef 2000 and Halgenaes
Aleeke being the champion Brahman bull calf at the 2004 Cairns show.
I am very fortunate to have the help of Trevor Jarvis who has a long
involvement in the Brahman industry. We're taking a few calves to Beef
2006 and later showing them on the northern show circuit. Please have
a look at our photo gallery and I welcome your call or the chance to
show you our cattle.
