Roger has had great interest in livestock from an early age, growing up and as a working partner on the family property on the shores of Spencer Gulf, South Australia. However it was his enthusiasm for the brahman breed, which led him to move to a property half a continent away at Biloela, Queensland, in 1981.
Following his marriage to Miriam and the birth of their daughter, Tara, Roger moved his new family to their present property near Rockhampton. Here, cattle have remained a passion and Roger began drawing them and entering his artwork in the local shows and Beef Expo art competitions with great success.
During the past 15 years, with Miriam's encouragement, Roger has developed his artistic talents to a point where clients, from around Australia and overseas, have kept much of his time busy completing commissions for pencil, pastel and acrylic artwork.
Over ninety percent of business comes from commissioned work, where clients send a photo (or series of photo's) for Roger to create a unique and personal artwork of their animals, homes, family or friends.
The following pages show a sample of Roger's Artwork.
